The Minstrel Foundation is now The Maestro Foundation
We support music and arts advancement opportunities for youth
The mandate of The Maestro Foundation for Music & Arts Advancement (formerly The Minstrel Foundation for Music & Arts Advancement) is to support the learning experience of economically challenged children and youth at risk. We support programs that benefit inner city youth and new immigrant communities within Toronto and the neighbouring areas.
Through the Maestro Foundation, kids from our inner city neighbourhoods can take music lessons throughout the school year in a number of programs, attend music camps during school breaks and in the summer and further their music education at the advanced level through a Maestro Foundation scholarship.
A professional quality music education has proven to increase a child's IQ resulting in higher academic performance in both math and science. Further benefits include improved speech and reading abilities in addition to the enhancement of teamwork skills and personal self discipline.
